In December 1996, Murphy USA opened its first retail store in a Sam’s Club parking lot in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 

Today, just a little over a decade later, Murphy USA is operating  more than 1,000 stores in 21 states throughout the U.S. -- a growth that speaks to Murphy’s commitment to quality fuels, convenient locations, discount gas and customer service.

Low Prices & Friendly Service
Murphy USA is dedicated to bringing our communities the highest quality fuels at the best possible prices.  Our high volume, low cost operation has become synonymous with “Low Prices” and “Friendly Service.”  Our core values guide our employees in serving customers and ensuring a friendly customer-oriented environment.

Murphy Express
In November 2006, almost a full decade after opening the first Murphy USA gas station, Murphy opened its first Murphy Express Store.  Since that time, a total of 25 Murphy Express stores have opened in eight states. Murphy Express is a larger format convenience store.

Murphy Oil Corporation
Murphy Oil Corporation, located in El Dorado, Arkansas, is the parent company of Murphy USA and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange ('MUR').

El Dorado Promise
Murphy Oil Corporation gives back to the community.  In 2007 Murphy Oil Corporation established El Dorado Promise, a program that makes college a reality for all El Dorado high school students. Murphy USA has pledged to send every high school graduate in El Dorado, Arkansas to the college of their choice in hopes of helping the children of this community think big and dream bigger.  When all is said and done, Murphy will have spent $50 million on furthering the education of the local community in El Dorado.

The students aren’t the only ones who benefit. Since the program began, El Dorado has been transformed. The number of college-bound seniors has jumped from roughly 60% to 81%. The community has grown too, as families are moving into the school district to as word of the program spreads. The student body has risen by more than 125 students with a total enrollment eclipsing 4,500.
